    OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Making his first collegiate start, Hughes led Jacksonville to a 69-16 victory against Warner, Saturday. He completed 15-of-20 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns while playing just 35 minutes. On Jacksonville’s first possession of the first half, Hughes threw two passes, the second a 58-yard touchdown strike to wideout Andy Jones.  He would later add a 35-yard touchdown pass to D’Andre Randle that pushed the Dolphins lead to 24-0 in the first quarter. Hughes was 9-of-11 passing for 184 yards and two touchdowns in that first quarter.

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Freshman | Linebacker | Fayetteville, Ga.
    Payne earns his third PFL weekly defensive honor in the season’s first four weeks after an impressive performance in Stetson’s 49-34 loss to Birmingham-Southern, Saturday. His biggest play was a sack that forced a fumble that he scooped up for an eight-yard fumble recovery for a third-quarter touchdown that got Stetson within a point (the ensuing PAT was missed) of tying the game. Payne also intercepted a pass in the end zone to halt a scoring drive and end the first half. He finished the day with seven tackles (four solo), 1½ tackles for loss (1 sack), two fumbles forced, a fumble recovered, an interception and a pass breakup.

    SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Senior | Kicker/Punter | Jacksonville, Fla.
    Lynch posted his second consecutive 15-point outing in Jacksonville’s 69-16 victory against Warner, Saturday. He was a perfect 9-for-9 on PATs for the second consecutive week and has made a Jacksonville record 27 consecutive PATs. Lynch also converted both of his field-goal attempts, including a 42-yard kick. Lynch averaged 28 yards on two punts, including one downed inside the 20-yard line. His nine kickoffs averaged 64.9 yards per kick with five touchbacks.
